The Essence of the Practice
Perhaps you already enjoy yoga, meditation or breathwork. You’ve experienced moments of stillness or connection, and you’re curious about how to deepen that experience—and carry it into the rest of your life.
Opening Up Awareness — Foundations offers space to understand yourself more deeply.
Through teaching, reflection and guided meditation, we’ll explore how your attention, thoughts, emotions, breathing and beliefs influence the way you feel and respond. You’ll learn to recognise familiar patterns, listen more closely to your body and develop a practice that supports your health and wellbeing, relationships and daily life.
"I started attending Richard's breathing class in March - I’ve been doing them ever since. This course; however, has really taken me to a new level. The amount of progress I’ve made the past few weeks is amazing. Things I have been visualizing during our practices are now coming to life - I am riding a bike again, watching my kids sports activities, running errands, etc. I was able to visit our new boat — it’s a fixer upper, but it won’t be long until I am sailing again with the sun on my face and a nice breeze. I know I am not out of the woods, but I am healing Thank you Richard Husseiny you are truly making a difference in our lives." Tasha
What we’ll explore
Our six-week journey moves from noticing your internal experience to bringing that awareness into everyday life:
-
Becoming aware: recognising your thoughts, bodily sensations and automatic reactions.
-
Attention and presence: exploring focused and spacious attention, heart-focused breathing and energy-centre meditation.
-
Thoughts and emotions: understanding familiar patterns and creating more space around your reactions.
-
Breath and energy: exploring breathing habits and the connection between breath, attention and felt experience.
-
Beliefs and identity: noticing the stories you carry and exploring ways of being that support you.
-
Awareness in everyday life: integrating your practice into relationships, decisions and a sustainable daily rhythm.
A practice that reaches into life
The value of this work can emerge in ordinary moments: noticing tension sooner, meeting yourself with greater kindness, responding differently to someone you love, or feeling more present for something you enjoy.
Previous participants have described significant and meaningful changes in their chronic health and their ability to engage with activities that matter to them.
"I’ve a great win to share: just back from a week admiring art and cultural stuff in Italy, 6 days really on the go, living pretty normally (couple of easy days chilling by pool to rest) and had NO PEM/pain in my leg muscles at all. I really am healing and it feels pretty extraordinary. I have changed my meditations to focus on receiving love/self love/forgiveness of self as it became apparent to me recently that this was a huge issue. Thank you Richard for the guidance around receiving as I think it’s the key." Carol
